You tap the WhatsApp button under the group you want, send the ready-made message, and someone on the island reads it and adds you in - most people are in within a few hours. No app to download, no account to create, no charge.

Free, no catch. Joining any Gran Canaria People Club group costs nothing. We don't sell your number, we don't allow spam in the chat, and we don't run ads inside the groups.

Can I join more than one group?

Join as many as make sense for you - there's no limit. Somebody hiking Roque Nublo on Saturday and coworking through the week might be in Hiking and Digital Nomads at once, and that's the norm, not the exception. 2 to 4 groups per member, on average.

What's the group size? Won't it be spammy?

We keep every group under 250 and moderate it like we'd want a group moderated - spam, promo posts and crypto links come out as soon as they're spotted. It stays a place for actual conversation between actual members.

I'm only in Gran Canaria for 5 days. Worth joining?

Worth it, easily. Tourists - 10 Days gets you a seat at a Las Canteras welcome dinner almost immediately, and a group of people already comparing notes on Roque Nublo hikes and Isla de Lobos boat days - you'll do more in five days than most do in five weeks.

I don't have WhatsApp. Another option?

It runs most of daily life on the island, from surf schools to scooter rentals to your GP's appointment line, so it tends to solve itself once you're here. If it genuinely isn't an option, use the contact page and we'll figure out another route in.

Are these groups safe? Vetted?

We ask one thing before adding anyone: a short intro - photo, first name, home country, the group you're going for. Anyone reported for scams or harassment is gone immediately. Think of it as a community with a front door, not an open directory.

Gran Canaria People Club is run by island residents and frequent visitors who'd rather nobody felt isolated here. It grew from a single WhatsApp group into several communities over time. Run out of genuine care, not as a business.
